Halotherapy has its roots in speleotherapy which is a therapeutic method based on a prolonged stay in the specific microclimatic conditions that exist in karst caves, pits and salt mines. Especially effective among the forms of Speleotherapy is the Halotherapy-based therapy in the microclimatic conditions that originates in salt mines.
The beginnings of Halotherapy are in the 19th century. The century, when Polish physicians began to systematize their observations on a much raring disease of the bustles of miners employed in salt mines. In the same century, also in Poland, the first subterranean sanatorium for treatment of Halotherapy was opened in the abandoned salt mines. In the mid-eighties of the twentieth century, the development of technology that enables the artificial creation of microclimatic conditions governing salt mines, developed modern halotherapy.
The room in which the microclimate is artificially created is necessary to carry out the halotherapy is called the Salt chamber. It is a dry brine aerosol which in the appropriate concentration dominantly contains 2-5 micrometer particles. Space with this kind of microclimate conditions has several basic characteristics: does not contain microorganisms or allergens, the abundance of negatively charged salt particles lead to ionization of the air whereby negative ions are created to provide additional A positive therapeutic effect, the mentioned area has stable humidity (40-60%) and a constant temperature (18-24 °c). All mentioned microclimate conditions are extremely favourable for the respiratory system.
A dry salty aerosol, which, given the dimension of its particles, reaches the deepest parts of the respiratory system, improving the reological properties of mucus makes it easier to remove it from the respiratory system and has a rehydrant effect on Level of the mucosa, so locally reduces oedema and improves microcirculation. In addition, it inhibits the growth of pathogenic microorganisms and improves the cellular cleansing of the mucous membranes from different inhaling particles. The cumulative result of the operation of the dried salt aerosol on the respiratory system is mucotic (thinning of mucus), bronchodrainage (easier mucus removal) and anti-inflammatory. With anti-inflammatory action, the bronzed hyperactivity is reduced and reduces the incidence of bronchospasm.
HALOTHERAPY FOR ADULTS
Eliminates chronic fatigue and depression.
It improves dermatological problems through revitalization and skin cleansing because halotherapy stimulates the activity of skin cells and thereby solves problems of inflammatory skin conditions (dermatitis, psoriasis).
It facilitates the problems of chronic pulmonary diseases (asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, COPD, sinusitis, rhinitis, bronchietasia, chronic infections, long-term cough, adenoiditis…)
Clears the airways of harmful particles of air and tobacco smoke.
Previous experience has shown that in adults the condition is improved over 85%.
The therapy is conducted in duration from 40 to 55 minutes, through 10-30 days. Depending on the expression of the symptoms of the disease, it is usually repeated 1-3 times a year.
During the treatment of adults, they can enjoy comfortable lounge chairs read or with the listening to the meditative music that is used and with Reiki therapies simply relax, you can come in pairs and spend your therapy with a pleasant conversation in an unusual ambience. It is always important for the duration of the therapy to breathe deeply and properly, as this also heightimes the effect of therapy.
Halotherapy can also be used by pregnant women and persons of older age.
HALOTHERAPY FOR CHILDREN
Dry aerosol is the main factor of halotherapy, the aerosol finds a way to strengthen child immunity and the biocenous respiratory system, cleaning anti-inflammatory. Pediatric and Pulmonological studies have shown that after 10-12 therapy and 1-2 times per year, the disease length of preschool and school children is reduced 1.5 times.
The therapy is performed for 20 to 40 minutes, for 10 to 30 days, depending on the age of the child and the expression of symptoms of the disease, usually repeated 1 to 2 times a year.
Halotherapy not only reduces the degree of disease in the acute phase of respiratory disease twice, but reduces complications from possible far-reaching infections. Also, Halotherapy does not only reduce the number of acute diseases but also does not allow further deterioration of chronic diseases in preschool and school children, such as: asthma, allergies, bronchitis, ear infections, sore throats, frequent respiratory tract infections, long lasting Ķašalj and others.
Children in the Salt Room receive therapy through play and entertainment. The floor in the salt room offers a sense of playing in the sandbox or the beach. Around them are buckets, blades, rakes, dice for stacking and books that you can read to them. In addition, the child is accompanied by a parent or person who has brought the child, children up to 14 years of age are always obliged to accompany an adult who is included in the price of therapy and who does not supplement the stay in the salt room.
The immune system in children is still adaptable, so halotherapy strengthens the immunity and the dose of medication is reduced over time.
Halotherapy is a natural method of treatment and does not interact with the medication that the child uses.
Halotherapy can also be used by babies.
